I win

In our family, it is my mum who is lucky.  She enters competitions and regularly wins them.  Honestly...get her to buy you a scratch card....you'll see.  Now she has yet to scoop the Euromillions, but there is time yet.  Anyhow, a while back I was seized by her spirit when I "liked" a post on Facebook.  Turns out, my name went into a hat and came out again...I am officially a winner.

I won art.

This kind of art

Kerry (aka 17twelve) emailed me.
I emailed a reply.
She designed.
I sent her a picture of my curtains.
I requested a paw print rather than a dandelion.
This is the result.

The process was incredibly simple.  I told Kerry the date of our wedding and the name of the church.  I typed out a list of some of our favourite places.  I mentioned that husband loves coffee and wife loves tea (OK I love coffee too, but I love tea sets more).  I gave her a Bible verse that has been a life raft in stormy times.  I gave her some quotes....

from Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 which Mark read at our wedding

"Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken"

A little movie / book quote....
"Nothing important, That is, I heard a good deal about a ring, and a Dark Lord, and something about the end of the world"
Obviously Sam's lines from the Fellowship of the Ring....This little bit of the film always makes us chuckle.  The trilogy of films always brings back happy memories of days spent in the Grifeon revising for the next film.  But when we first began dating (21 years ago) we would talk about the books.

As for songs, they all have to be Muse

"Together we're invincible"
 or
"Hopelessly, I'll love you endlessly
Hopelessly I'll give you everything
But I won't give you up
I won't let you down
And I won't leave you falling
If the moment ever comes"

I had to toss in a little Kierkegaard...."life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced"

The final quote I had slipped in was
“All his life he tried to be a good person. Many times, however, he failed.
For after all, he was only human. He wasn't a dog.”
This one didn't quite make the final cut, but it was in honour of Dilly and Beans and they made it.

The name, and it's meaning of our other offspring also made it.

The final result is lovely, perfect, unique.  Kerry has in 50 fonts or less captured the essence of the Seath family in a very beautiful way.  I am deeply sentimental about it.

Now go and pay her a huge sum of money to design one for you *
I promise you will love it and the process of thinking about what quotes, places, words and songs sum you up will make you cherish what you have.

Couples artwork

She also does a lovely range of beautiful bits for your baby.

Framed prints / Thank you cards / Look at the cute hand & footprints

Or just get her to create a bespoke nursery for you....
Twins?

Or if you want wedding stationary designed, she does that too.
I have NO need of this...but it's lovely

*If you don't want to pay her huge sums of money...you could just pay her what she charges

Go and visit her
