THE TOOTH FAIRY

There was an abscess.  It was not nice.  It required rinsing the mouth out with salt water.  The tooth it hid below had to be removed.  That was not nice either....

That little body lying in the big dentist's chair just tore my heart right out of my chest.  But "the dentist" was very gentle and with no fuss the cracked tooth was taken out, and Bea was given a sticker and a little paper bag containing a tooth.

We returned home and Bea crashed.  So the day was spent cuddled up on the sofa chomping on cotton wool.  For some strange reason however, despite a day's rest, Beatrice was very eager to get to bed.  Unusually eager.

The reason for this uncharacteristic behaviour could have something to do with a small magical creature...  who may, or may not be attracted by this cushion.

Any how, with one tooth less...

...Bea snuggled into bed.

You can't see it, but the tooth was safely tucked inside a little purple velvet pouch, which was in turn tucked beneath the pillow.

Just before slumber claimed her, Bea reminded me to open the window to allow her special visitor in.

During the night Bea came into our bed clutching the purse and resumed sleep.

Fast forward to the next morning.  On waking her first thought was "where is my purse?"  Buried beneath the duvet we found it.  Horror!  It was empty.

A disappointed little girl curled up and said "that naughty tooth fairy played a bad trick on me"

I suggested that perhaps the tooth fairy had left her money but it had dropped out on her nighttime travels.

Retracing her steps we found a golden coin beneath the bed.

Phew!

And for added evidence of the tooth fairy's visit, there was fairy dust by the open window.

Looking in the mirror Beatrice pointed to some golden glitter on her cheek..."that's from where the tooth fairy kissed me"  she announced and pointing to one speck by her ear "and that's where she whispered "thank you"

So that's that then.

U{DATE:  we've just found more glitter fairy dust in the doll's house and concluded that she stopped there for a little sit down and a bit of a play.
