Beep, Beep, Brum, Brum...it's Ben's Birthday

Today Bea and I crashed a birthday party.

Apparently we were welcome...

Can you guess the theme yet?

The party guests were welcomed and presented with their very own driver's licence...

The authorities recommended that they wore their licence at all times, particularly when racing their vehicles...

Now none of the guests had arrived with an automobile, so they each got to choose a key...

...and then select their model of choice...

... there was then a garage of brand new cars straight off the production line, just waiting for customisation...

...it was advisable to bring your own mechanic to this party as the first thing you had to do was to attach wheels (four on the body of the car and one steering wheel)...

Then you had to fit the lights....create your own windscreen, add an exhaust pipe and customise your registration plate....

Here's one the birthday boy made earlier...

The registration making table was VERY popular!

and required considerable concentration...

(A high level of concentration was also required to insert your key into the dashboard)

If I'm honest, I think some of the Dads had more fun working in the garage than their boys!!!

If you weren't sufficiently entertained by the car construction, you could always play at a traffic light bean bag toss,

(I don't think anyone even looked at this Michelle....they were having too much fun with their cars)

As you can imagine, all this was VERY hard work.  Some of the party guests were in need of a....

and it was certainly time to

Thankfully there were traffic lights, spare wheels, dip sticks and spare tyres to consume.

For a moment my narrative diverts just to say....racing driver cool!

Then, the newly customised cars lined up at the starting line and warmed up their engines.

 The rally followed.

Some got a bit stuck in traffic

Emergency services were called to the RTAs

There was a little bit of speeding

and in the final moments, Molly was declared the winner

(declaration made by Adam)

(Adam is her dad)

Then it was time for party food, birthday cake and party bags.

Ben, your birthday party was brilliant and we all loved the "Ninja Turtles" theme!

(I would just like to point out, Ben is holding the BMW Bea bought him...I think we picked the right model!)
