Josie's Barbie Party

Josie has been eagerly anticipating her birthday party for quite some time.  If you called in to visit, at some point she would ask her mum for "the box" and show you all the things that had been assembled for her Barbie party.  You would be shown the tattoos, the plates and even the Barbie doll for pass the parcel.  The morning of the party arrived finally and despite a few hiccups on the way, Josie was excited.

You could get your nails done at "Barbie's Nail Salon" or have your face painted and choose a tattoo at "Barbie's Beauty Parlour" and for some (not naming any names Cara) the choice of temporary tattoo(s) took lengthy, careful consideration.

There was party food and Barbie buns

Even Phoebe gets a turn

Josie was quite distraught when Evie unwrapped the final layer.  She thought she should win.  This was a fair enough expectation for two reasons.  Number one, it was her party after all and number two, it was her Dad operating the music, and if anyone is going to stack the cards in your favour it ought to be Daddy!  However, the disappointment was fleeting, lasting only long enough for anyone over a certain age to hum one chorus of "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to".  Then she was distracted by unarguably the best bit of the party....

Evie gets some air time
The bouncy slide brought joy to the hearts of the children and terror to the hearts of the Grannies while the mums just painted faces and nails to the background tunes of happy squealing  kids.
